Delicious!

Yesterday we had some cold fruit soup (Hideg gyümölcsleves). It’s a traditional dish here in Hungary, typically made from whatever fruit is in season, with or without wiped creme however you prefer it.  It’s usually served as a first course, followed by a flavorful entrée, but sometimes in a hot summer day it is all you need. When in Hungary in summer time, it’s a must! Yummy! ;P

Have a great day! XOXO Nicky ♡

So nice

New favorite hangout!  Bistro Mini on Krisztina tér is a beautiful, cozy bistro with live music and a DJ late at night. Great mojito and fantastic ambiance. See you there!  ;)

Budapest at nightfall

Some of you were wondering if I could recommend some good restaurants in the city. The truth is that I’m really not an expert on the subject. The reason is simple the fact that, since I was born in Budapest I still have friends and family here. Most days we enjoy some old fashion home cooked Hungarian food with friends and family. We don’t want to hurt anybody's feelings by eating out all the time.

However I can tell you that the best restaurants are often the simpler, less fashionable restaurants with genuine Hungarian cousin. If the design, the view and a food is equally important to you than you should try chic Cyrano restaurant on Kristóf tér or beautiful Onyx on Vörösmarty tér. These are the 2 posh restaurants that I actually been to and can recommend. Onyx in a well-known gourmet restaurant but little uptide. You do need to book a table and they have a dress code. Nevertheless the food is undeniably fantastic. My favorit is still Cafe Vian on Liszt Ferenc tér. The menu is wide with starters, soups, salads, main courses, all types of beverages and desserts and the service is very friendly. If you like mojito this is the place for you ;)  I’m more familiar with Confectionery, Cafes & Tearooms and  I already made a post about a cuple of them.

Have a great evening! XOXO Nicky ♡

Extraordinary days

Kiraly utca Budapest

Today finally a wonderful cool breeze exchanged the sultry heat. We ha a nice walk down Kiraly street and found another jam in the city. This lovely coffee house is also a boutique where you can buy delicates, scented candles, pottery and other home décor. I love this place mostly because of its fantastic outdoor seating in a delightful and tranquil surrounding. Defiantly worth a visit! I know I’ll be back! ;)

Whish you all a pleasant evening! XOXO Nicky ♡

Atmosphere

I like to thank you all for your positive feedback on the previous posts. I’m glad you like the pictures and glad that it might inspire you to visit BP some day :) If you decide to come make sure it’s not during the winter. The winters are very cold here and the city is gray. Spring and fall is definitely the best time for a trip here. Not too cold and not too hot, perfect for sightseeing, for open air cafes and iced lattes.

Have a lovely evening! XOXO Nicky

There no place like home!

I’m living in Sweden but was born in Hungary Budapest. This is the place where I took my first steps, where my journey began on this earth and this is where I was as happy and carefree as only a child can be.

I didn’t think that so may of you will have the right answer but as I promised I will post your name and link back to your blog. Revisit my earlier post, because I will update it with information about the places on the pictures, addresses and so on.
